GLP-1 is a major incretin hormone produced by intestinal L-cells. Following secretion, biologically active GLP-1 is rapidly cleaved by DPP-4 into metabolites including GLP-1 (9-36) amide.
Measurement of GLP-1 is widely used in research involving incretin biology, glucose homeostasis and metabolic disease.
The Mercodia assay provides 100% specificity for GLP-1 (9-36) amide, a detection limit of ≤0.65 pmol/L, and requires only 25 µL of sample.
