The Mercodia C-Peptide ELISA Kit (10-1136-01) is a highly specific 96-well immunoassay for quantitative measurement of human C-peptide in serum, EDTA or heparin plasma, and urine. With minimal cross-reactivity to insulin and proinsulin, the assay is well suited for assessing endogenous insulin secretion and pancreatic β-cell function
The Mercodia C-Peptide ELISA Kit provides specific quantitative determination of human C-peptide in serum, plasma and urine.
C-peptide is produced during the processing of proinsulin and is released together with insulin. Its measurement is widely used to investigate endogenous insulin secretion and pancreatic β-cell function, making C-peptide particularly valuable in diabetes and glucose-metabolism research.
Mercodia's assay uses highly specific antibodies that enable measurement of human C-peptide with minimal interference from insulin and proinsulin. This specificity also allows researchers to measure human C-peptide in mouse and rat models, an important advantage for studies involving transplanted human islets or other humanized experimental systems.
The assay is calibrated against the International Reference Reagent for human C-peptide IRR84/510. Each kit contains reagents for 96 wells and is sufficient for 42 samples plus one calibrator curve when run in duplicate.
Its 12 × 8 removable microplate strip format also allows efficient use when testing smaller sample batches.
