MercodiaThe Mercodia Glucagon ELISA – 10 µL (10-1281-01) is a sensitive and specific immunoassay for quantitative determination of glucagon in rat, mouse and non-human primate (NHP) serum, EDTA plasma and cell culture medium. Requiring only 10 µL of sample, the assay offers a measurement range of 2–180 pmol/L with minimal cross-reactivity to several related proglucagon-derived peptides.
The Mercodia Glucagon ELISA – 10 µL is designed for sensitive and specific quantitative measurement of glucagon in serum, EDTA plasma and cell culture medium from rats, mice and non-human primates.
Glucagon is a pancreatic hormone secreted primarily by α-cells and plays a central role in maintaining glucose homeostasis. Its actions counterbalance insulin by promoting hepatic glucose production, making glucagon an important research target in diabetes, pancreatic islet biology and metabolic research.
The Mercodia assay uses highly specific monoclonal antibodies to accurately measure glucagon while minimizing cross-reactivity with other circulating proglucagon-derived peptides. Importantly, only 10 µL of sample is required and no sample purification is necessary, making the assay particularly attractive for animal studies where sample volumes may be limited.
